Different Foods to try in NY!

Welcome to New York! One of the most diverse states in the country. Being that it is one of the most diverse states, means that there are various foods to try by different countries. From Thai to Ethiopian, from Spanish tapas to street styled South American food. Whatever country you may come from, I am sure there is a restaurant that has some great comfort food for you!  You can find amazing tasting restaurants stretching from the end of Long Island, all the way through the 5 boroughs. Some of my favorites include Korean BBQ in Flushing, Queens, Roberta's Pizza in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, authentic Puerto Rican food in Spanish Harlem, authentic Thai food also in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, delicious and unique ice cream flavors and desserts in the Lower East Side, Manhattan like in Soft Swerve, Ice & Vice and Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream. Each restaurant has a different vibe too, some can be for a romantic date and others can be for a large crowd or group of friends. After eating a few meals, take a stroll down Prince Street where you will find some urban art on the sides of buildings. I follow plenty of food blogs and profiles on Instagram and Infatuation that updates me with the newest restaurants and best prices (unless I'm trying to splurge).
Whether you're hoping to taste something completely wild, or enjoy a normal meal but in an abnormal atmosphere, New York City will never let you down, and neither will the choices on my list. Bon appetite!

  2. I really like how this blog entry touches upon diversity. Even though you're discussing diversity among food, I still think this will make ELLs feel comfortable. This post may also open students eyes to other cultures and foods they are not used to or aware of. Also, I like the vocabulary words you chose, especially BBQ. This is a very common acronym used in the English language, and an ELL might not be aware of this.
